Happy Holidays!

It's the Christmas Eve Eve and the fourth night of Hanukkah!!!  What a beautiful holiday season we are having with the grounds covered in a thick blanket of sparkling snow and the night sky so clear and crisp you can see all of the twinkling stars!  I hope everyone is able to celebrate by spending time with their family and enjoying the warmth of their home.
Happy Holidays!

Christmas Porch

Ugh!  I have been a total slacker when it is coming to blog lately!  I guess I do have an exuse though, it's that I have been working two jobs, plus the family and my design buisiness.  I have been pretty busy.
I love decorating my front porch for the seasons and Christmas is my all time favorite!  Here are some ideas that I love!

Tree Skirts

I am having a small dilema with my Christmas trees skirt.  I don't like what I have and I am on the hunt for something neutral and not so fancy but at the same time not so blah.  Here are some thoughts and if anyone has suggestions please email them to me!

Room of the Week

Our room of the week this week is the...
Home Office
Between all of the projects I have going on and my husbands projects and add the girls homework our work space is a disaster.  What we need is a home office.

Yum!

I just started a new job a Williams-Sonoma and I love it!  Of course on my first day they were making some delicious smelling Thanksgiving food and that’s all I could think of that whole day.  So I decided since I get that fabulous discount of theirs I would buy some food to sample and this is what I brought home first to make:

And this is what we thought of our wonderful Thanksgiving bread:

Wine Storage

Check out this super cool wine storage idea that I found!  It’s made from pallets that I am sure you can get at a big box store for very inexpensive.  I love how rough and rustic it looks but at the same time it gives off a warm vibe. Great for people who love to entertain because it can also be used as a buffet!

FRIDAY

So excited for the weekend!  We have no plans whatsoever and I couldn't be more thrilled!  I think I am going to cook and bake all weekend with my family so we can spend some quality time together before I start my job at Williams-Sonoma (which I am super excited about, they have the best discount).

Thanksgiving Table

Unbelievable, it's already time to start thinking about the Thanksgiving table!  It seems like we were just preparing for Halloween!  I love all of the colors, smells, and whole atmosphere of Thanksgiving.  The table needs to be set to perfection with beautiful centerpeices.  Here are some that I suggest:

Ikat

Ikat textiles have been around for centuries.  For those of you who are unfamiliar, Ikat [pronounced "ee-kot"] is a dying process where either the warp or weft yarns, or both are tie-died and then woven [depending on the desired pattern] which creates this tye dye look you see in each piece of fabric.

Room of the Week

I have teenage girls and that means there are always friends hanging out or for sleepovers.  My husband Chris and I always end up stuck in our bedroom so the girls can watch movies or do whatever they do.  I would love to have a sweet finished basement where they can have their sleepovers and hang outs without Chris and I being banished to our bedroom for the night!  Theirfore our room of the week is...

Cozy Nooks

I love to be cozy and warm while reading a book or watching the snow falling out of a window with a hot cup of chai in the cold weather.  The idea of a cozy nook to relax in makes me smile.

Snow Day

Schools closed for our first snow day of the year!  I get to spend the day being cozy with my girls and puppies drinking hot chocolate!  Safe to say I am one happy mama!

Houndstooth

I love the houndstooth pattern and I was curious to know where it originated from so I checked it out and here is the very shortened version: It was popular with England aristocrat in the 19-20 century.  Eventually Christian Dior brings it to modern day times in 1948 and gives it the name houndstooth check.
